Promethean are proud to announce our first digital event of the year for teachers in the UK and Ireland. The session will cover sourcing technology for your school with little or no investment and also provide tactics that can be used in the classroom. The webinar will will take place on Monday 14th May at 7pm and will be run by internet sensation Simon Hunt, who is a Primary School teacher at Tottington Primary.

Why should I attend this digital event?

Simon is an expert in this field from experience from applying a ‘can do’ attitude. He, as a teacher, has gone from having an outdated, 15 year old interactive whiteboard in his classroom that would struggle to turn on to having a brand new Promethean ActivPanel.

He has also sourced a playstation, VR headsets and lots more – all for FREE! His work also gained the attention of HP, who provided him with a state of the art computer to be the first person in the UK to test, in his classroom.

This digital event is being held to support schools who, according to findings from The State of Technology in Education Report, generally struggle to afford new technology.

Schools are not given enough of a budget to be able to provide adequate technology for the modern world for which we are preparing students.”

Deputy Head – Academy Secondary

The report also found that 0% of head teachers think that there is too much budget allocated to technology. This suggest that all schools can benefit from free technology.

The digital event will cover 3 main sections:

  1. Education technology, growth mindset and pupil engagement
  2. Auditing your parents and your edtech
  3. Using technology and social media in the classroom

Outcomes from the digital event

  • Strategies to source edtech for your school
  • Additional pedagogical opportunities, which can result in higher levels of engagement and attainment
  • Find out how to apply for the Promethean Grant with exclusive top tips and advice from Simon, one of last year’s winners and a judging panel member for this year’s grant
